The range
Esc brings you back here. Everything you set is remembered.

One of you makes a match and sends the invite link; the others open it. Arena: first to 3 rounds against each other. Battle royale: the same squad drops onto Outskirts together against the bots set below.
Arena, Bots
then Play tab, Arena Bots. Easy bots are slow and miss; hard ones sprint and land most of a mag.
Modes: Gun Run, Team Deathmatch, Crown
the difficulty and abilities above. Then Play tab (alone), or pick the mode in the first box and Create match (with friends).
Battle Royale, Bots
the difficulty above. Then Play tab, Battle Royale. You drop onto one of five places; the ring closes six times; 4 heals (cells then syringes); M is the map.
  • 1v1: three lanes. 1v1v1: a triangle, a corner each. First to 3 rounds, blue shields and 100 health.
  • Gun Run: one kill moves you to the next gun; after the last gun comes the knife (melee, 100 a hit, 300 to the head), and a knife kill wins. Dying to a melee costs a level. 10 minutes, then the highest level wins. Health and shields come back 4 s after the last hit. Team deathmatch: you and your friends, filled out with bots to four, against four bots; respawns; first team to 30, or ahead at 10 minutes. Crown: rounds; 20 s in the crown appears in the middle, walk over it to take it, and 30 s holding it without going down takes the round (so does being the last one up). First to 3. All three play in the 1v1 arena.
  • 20 s into a round the circle in the middle goes live. Stand in it alone for 10 s to take the round. The last one standing takes it at any time.
  • Abilities (a setting per match; the battle royale has them on): pick JOLT (a 10 m dash the way you are moving, every 3 s, key F) or TRIAGE (every heal twice as fast) with 5 or 6 when the card comes up: at each countdown, or when you land. In the range, 5 and 6 pick one any time to try it.
  • You play with your selected loadout: . Change it on the Loadouts tab any time; weapons swap straight away.
  • It connects your browser straight to your friends'. Most home internet works; some school, work or phone networks block it. With three, the host's connection carries the match.
Default loadouts cannot be changed.

Measuring your display… i

Getting past 60 fps, step by step

A browser only draws when the screen can show a new frame, so your display's refresh rate is the ceiling. On this PC the game itself runs at 800+ fps on Competitive, so the cap is the screen and the browser, not the game.

  1. Set your monitor to its top refresh rate. Windows: Settings, System, Display, Advanced display, Choose a refresh rate. Pick the highest number (144, 165, 240 Hz). If only 60 is offered, the cable or port is the limit: use DisplayPort (or HDMI 2.0 or newer) and plug it into the graphics card, not the motherboard.
  2. Fully restart Chrome so it picks up the new rate: close every window, and if Chrome stays in the system tray, right-click it there and choose Exit. Come back here and this box shows the new number.
  3. Turn off Energy Saver. Chrome: Settings, Performance, Energy Saver off. It can cap pages at 30 fps.
  4. Check hardware acceleration is on. Chrome: Settings, System, Use graphics acceleration when available on, then Relaunch. The address chrome://gpu should say WebGL is hardware accelerated.
  5. Laptops and PCs with two GPUs: Windows Settings, System, Display, Graphics, add Chrome, Options, High performance, so it runs on the graphics card.
  6. Optional: go past the refresh rate. Like turning V-Sync off in a game: more frames and lower latency, with some screen tearing.
    1. Right-click the desktop, New, Shortcut.
    2. Paste this as the location (it is a separate Chrome profile, so your normal Chrome and its settings are untouched):
      "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --user-data-dir="C:\ChromeUncapped" --disable-frame-rate-limit --disable-gpu-vsync http://localhost:5173
    3. Name it Chrome Uncapped and open it. It opens this page.
    4. Check the FPS counter, top right in game: it should now go past your refresh rate.
  7. Still stuck? In the GPU driver, set V-Sync to off or application controlled. AMD Software: Gaming, Graphics, Wait for Vertical Refresh. NVIDIA Control Panel: Manage 3D settings, Vertical sync.
Click a key to change it. Scroll down is forward (tap-strafing) and scroll up is jump (superjumps) by default. Esc is always the menu.
Your keys are kept in this browser.
